Lyn Delmastro-Thomson holds a master’s degree in somatic (mind-body) psychology and is a certified hypnotherapist and energy healer, using the healing systems of BodyTalk and Body Intuitive. She is also a speaker and author of the Amazon Best Seller, You Are Not Your Diagnosis.
After being misdiagnosed with leukaemia at the age of 25, Lyn became passionate about sharing with the world her message that just because a doctor has said an illness is "chronic" or "incurable" doesn't mean that it has to be a life sentence, and that western medicine isn't the only approach to healing.
In Lyn's words:
"Hearing the words “you have leukaemia” were life-changing. I went from seeing myself as a 25-year-old grad student to seeing myself as someone battling cancer in a matter of moments. After recovering from the initial shock, I tried to resume living my life but I didn’t get better-- and instead, I got worse.
I began to ask questions about my care, as well as to explore other healing approaches. Through the process, I learned that my body had been “talking” to me for several years before this diagnosis and just how important it is to listen to our bodies."
3 top tips for my audience:
1. When you are experiencing physical symptoms, start getting curious about what your body is telling you. Start having a discussion with your body like you would with a friend.
2. The more you suppress symptoms rather than trying to resolve them at the root, often the louder your body will get. Get help to figure out the root causes if you are struggling.
3. Don’t feel uncomfortable asking for a second (or third) opinion if you are dealing with health issues
