This workbook was conceptualized for a NAMI Durham event to meet the need of people with Post-Pandemic Depression and Anxiety and the healthcare providers who treat these people and their families after the team conducted several “virtual” sessions in preparation for the event via support groups for stress and anxiety for minorities.
Our goals were to:
1. Educate about the causes, presentation and different treatments of Post-Pandemic Depression.
2. Provide structured exercises to help people become active participants in their own treatment and recovery.
For every book bought, one signed book and USB thumb drive with a wellness toolkit will be donated to a client/staff/volunteer/intern of Urban Ministries of Durham, Durham Rescue Mission, and B&D Integrated Health.

Dave’s passion for firewalking began in 1995 after attending his first Tony Robbins Seminar. Though he initially resisted the idea of walking on coals exceeding 1000 degrees in temperature, after a little last-minute encouragement, he found himself celebrating at the other end of the fire lane, with a crewmember affirming, “You did it, you did it, you do it!” That was the exact life-changing moment that Dave’s love, passion, and fascination for firewalking was born.
Dave Albin is worlds #1 Firewalk Expert. He is very clear that with great wisdom comes great responsibility, and he takes his gift very seriously. He loves what he does, and watching people change right before his eyes is something he will forever want to facilitate. If you want to firewalk yourself, or you want to put on a firewalk for your family, friends, or company, Dave is your guy. In Crystal's words:
For my 41st birthday on October 2nd 2022 I published my first book called S.Y.L. Say You Love, a testimony of triumph over the darkness of childhood sexual trauma and addiction. I struggled with addiction in many forms from the early age of 13. I lived on the streets of Las Vegas Nevada until I started hitchhiking and hoping illegal freight trains all over America. I was on the Sally Jesse Rafael show for looking older than I was when I graduated my 5th-grade year. My early childhood sexual trauma along with being overly sexualized on national television conditioned me into believing that sex was my identity. I struggled with toxic relationships and had a skewed vision that love= sex. Codependency was another form of addiction for me. It took decades before I understood what self-love and healthy boundaries encompassed. My ability to say "No!" Had been taken from me without me ever realizing it. My biggest first step towards recovery was giving my inner child the voice she never had. The ability to say "No!" People, places, substances and events were a huge turning point in finding the life and love I had been searching for. I now share my story loudly and proudly so anyone sitting in silence knows they are not alone.

Joe suffered from multiple addiction for more than 20 years, mainly due to undiagnosed mental health conditions including Bipolar Disorder II, severe depression, anxiety and adult ADHD. Joe voluntarily entered inpatient treatment in November of 2008 and has been in recovery ever since.
Joe spent more than 35 years in the broadcast media industry as an on-air talk talent, program director, talent coach and developer, and an Emmy Award-winning voice talent, operating radio stations in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Rochester, MN and Sioux Falls SD. He’s also a cancer survivor and a long-time volunteer of other nonprofits.
After 35 years as successful talk radio host, program director, public media network manager, talent coach/developer and an Emmy award-winning voice talent, Joe joined Face It TOGETHER, an addiction wellness nonprofit, as a peer addiction coach in 2017. Joe has extensive personal and coaching experience with addiction and mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety. His dynamic career daily put him a place where highly creative talent, mental health and addiction intersect. Often that intersection ran smoothly, but there were also massive crashes. Sometimes Joe got caught up in the wreckage.
3 Top Tips
1. Sometimes you have to go slow to go fast
2. The opposite of addiction is not sobriety
3. The “WHY”…
