Scott has traveled the world for the past 30 years, living in 52 countries, serving in 2 combat tours including the delivery of regional and global projects as a global consultant.

Additionally, Scott offers Leadership Transformation services helping executives and managers recognize their organization’s performance thresholds and how to counter polluted circumstances while reducing stress and burnout.
In Scott's words:
Little did I realize how many directions one’s life could go. As a child, I dreamed of exploring the world over. Serving in 2 combat tours at 18 years old forced me to grow up quicker than others. Experiencing death gave me a different outlook on the value of life.
Promising myself to live my life to the fullest, I sought a life that would keep me moving, learning. Working unthinkable projects in harsh conditions, until I couldn’t. Leading to my death. Why this and the ensuing depression happened is how I created my TIME | LIFE | SELF program.

Nicholas Mathews is a founder of Stillwater Behavioral Health, a Dual Diagnosis treatment facility that personalizes care to help people struggling to recover from substance addiction and mental health disorders -- regardless of their socioeconomic background. Mathews abused opioids before becoming a heroin addict at age 16. When he developed a life-threatening liver condition, he realized he needed to get clean. After succeeding, he dedicated his life to guiding others into sobriety, becoming a consultant for various treatment facilities. This inspired him to fix deficiencies in clinical care and boost treatment program effectiveness through Stillwater Behavioral Health. He currently studies at Harvard Business School online.
3 top tips for my audience:
“You can’t keep what you have unless you give it away.” That’s a wildly important lesson I learned. You have to be willing to show up for other people with the absence of self. If you benefit from that, great, but the real benefit comes from the reminder that your problems are not the most significant. You are not the most important person in the room. And one of the biggest things I’ve benefited from is the ability to realize that I’m not a victim. I don’t think there’s ever been a situation where I was truly victimized. It was a state of mind that I upheld to justify my behavior. When I could transcend that mindset and take control of my life, I experienced a freedom I had never known before.

1. everyone holds personal boundaries
2. a boundary violation can occur regardless of our relationship with someone
3. it's up to the person who experiences the violation to define and determine how much context matters
4. harm is a veritable concept
5. It's really critical that we think about not just being against the big behaviours, but the small behaviours
6. apologize without contextualizing
7. take ownership regardless of your intentionality
8. our identity impacts how we perceive these situations
9. And just because something's been the way it was for so many years, it doesn't mean we can't critique it. Re-explore it, reevaluate it and come up with better answers!

259 Ann Hince: Issues lie in the Tissues - From inner turmoil to inner peace
Saturday May 21, 2022
Saturday May 21, 2022
Ann recognized that her emotional memories were stored physically in her body as tension. As that tension was released, life started to change in ways that she never knew were possible. By sharing her story, Ann wants others to know their lives can change too.
When Ann was 19, she woke one morning to find her mother dead in her bathroom.
Twenty years later the tears from that trauma were still just under the surface. Ann found a simple technique that helped her release these emotions - but she went further and can now put her awareness inside her body - and has changed the bone structure of her skull and grown ½ an inch at age 55. Ann has found that seeking out our truth, what we truly feel, and accepting those feelings, is the key to inner peace.
3 top tips
1. Emotions are stored physically in our body as physical tension.
2. The first step is noticing when we are feeling emotional
3. Accepting how we are thinking and feeling (not acting on them though) allows them to dissipate their energy.
