Lyn Delmastro-Thomson holds a master’s degree in somatic (mind-body) psychology and is a certified hypnotherapist and energy healer, using the healing systems of BodyTalk and Body Intuitive. She is also a speaker and author of the Amazon Best Seller, You Are Not Your Diagnosis.
After being misdiagnosed with leukaemia at the age of 25, Lyn became passionate about sharing with the world her message that just because a doctor has said an illness is "chronic" or "incurable" doesn't mean that it has to be a life sentence, and that western medicine isn't the only approach to healing.
In Lyn's words:
"Hearing the words “you have leukaemia” were life-changing. I went from seeing myself as a 25-year-old grad student to seeing myself as someone battling cancer in a matter of moments. After recovering from the initial shock, I tried to resume living my life but I didn’t get better-- and instead, I got worse.
I began to ask questions about my care, as well as to explore other healing approaches. Through the process, I learned that my body had been “talking” to me for several years before this diagnosis and just how important it is to listen to our bodies."
3 top tips for my audience:
1. When you are experiencing physical symptoms, start getting curious about what your body is telling you. Start having a discussion with your body like you would with a friend.
2. The more you suppress symptoms rather than trying to resolve them at the root, often the louder your body will get. Get help to figure out the root causes if you are struggling.
3. Don’t feel uncomfortable asking for a second (or third) opinion if you are dealing with health issues

Stavros is a 29-year veteran of the weight loss field, and he is the founder of the Live Your Way Thin System. An unconventional approach to weight loss that helps people lose weight for life by reconnecting them to 5 ancient habits that modern societies have forgotten.
Stavros' position on weight loss and health was not shaped by simply studying in school.
He was raised on a Greek island where thin was the norm and people lived long healthy lives. That unique life experience gave him an insight into weight loss and health that very few weight-loss experts have.
In Stavros'words:
"Following the example of successful people usually is a good idea, but not when it comes to losing weight and getting in shape. Most people who were able to lose weight and keep it off have sacrificed their life for fitness. They are constantly preoccupied with their diet and workouts, and don’t enjoy life to the fullest. Who wants to live like that? I don’t!
There is a much better example to follow that will enable you to have a lean and healthy body and still enjoy life to the fullest. That is the example of healthy regions."
3 top tips for my audience:
1. Never work on more than one habit at a time. Trying to work on too many habits at once, almost always leads to burnout.
2. The first goal of any exercise program should not be results, it should be to develop the exercise habit
3. You don’t need to get rid of junk food to lose weight and get in shape. All you have to do is make them special and have them only on the weekends and special occasions.

I have the honour of speaking with Colleen Murphy about the journey following a severe accident that turned this family's life upside down.
On the morning of April 19, 2013, while out for a typical morning run, Cooleen's daughter Lauren was hit by a car and suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury. Lauren was admitted to Cedars- Sinai Hospital in West Hollywood and remained in extremely critical condition for several weeks. Lauren had lived in New York at the time of the accident and was in LA on business. She did not have identification on her and remained a Jane Doe for several hours. Her prognosis was not good. Upon arriving in LA, her parents were told that she had a very slim chance of surviving. Once she got past the extremely critical stage it had been explained that her brain damage was so severe that she would most likely not be able to feed herself, walk, talk or understand spoken words.
Thankfully, Lauren has never been typical and she has spent the last 5 years proving all of the experts wrong. Her recovery has been far from easy, she has travelled all over the United States working with experts trying to get better. She works extremely hard and continues to struggle each and every day to regain as much of her former life as possible. Lauren has become the embodiment of the Murphy family saying, “Murphys Don’t Quit” and this has become her calling card.
Today she lives with her parents in O’Fallon MO and continues to focus on her recovery. She maintains a very busy schedule of speech therapy, physical therapy and the all too often retail therapy trips with her Mother. Lauren enjoys getting out in the community, meeting new people and sharing her story. She remains at high risk for seizure activity due to the extent of her brain damage. One of her seizure triggers is running, an average person may decide to give up running due to the risk, not Lauren, she refuses to give up! To date, against all odds, she has completed over (20) 5k runs with her Dad and continues to inspire all who come across her path.

Saturday Jan 29, 2022
Saturday Jan 29, 2022
Alaina had many careers before her introduction to the world of finance. She went from over 300lbs and over $100,000 in debt to a successful financial advisor, podcaster and community leader who is focused on giving people opportunities to create their best life.
In Alaina's words:
"I am a red seal pastry chef and followed my passion for food to a really dark place. Obesity, addictions, struggles with depression and anxiety… Carpal Tunnel forced a change in careers and thankfully it did. After baking I started in industrial sales which led to operating equipment which led to layoffs and frustrations and the opportunity to become an advisor. Now, I help people learn about money and find huge satisfaction providing education and awareness on how money works and how to live your best life."
3 top tips for my audience:
1. Track your habits
2. Spend time in reflection
3. If it isn’t worth 5x as much money to you, don’t buy it.

224 Jeremy Sherman: How to deal with A@#$holes - Interview with a psychoproctologist
Saturday Jan 22, 2022
Saturday Jan 22, 2022
Jeremy Sherman PhD has been on many of the rides in life's amusement park. For example, in his 20’s he was an engineer getting water to poor Guatemalan villages and was also an elected elder in the world’s largest hippy commune. During a juicy midlife crisis, he pivoted to academic research on the questions that were eating at him. He now calls himself a cradle-to-grave researcher, collaborating with a Berkeley neuroscientist on everything from the chemical origins of life to the nature of assholes and cults today. Sherman is the author of a Columbia University Press book about life's origins but also 1000 articles for Psychology Today about everyday doubts and decision making.
3 top tips for my audience:
1. Commit yourself to fallibilist irony, the adaptive response to a wiggly world.
2. Watch out for “I once was lost but now I’m blind” syndrome.
3. Don’t panic, it’s organic. If you understand how we got here life gets more interesting and you get more comfortable in your own skin.

223 Ericka Thomas: Stop Working Out: Navigating the Stress Curve
Monday Jan 17, 2022
Monday Jan 17, 2022
"We live in a culture of stress and systemic dysregulation. Stress, tension and trauma live in the body and are at the root of so many chronic health issues today. Fitness professionals are in a unique position to be boots on the ground to make a profound difference in our communities. Yet few get the training they need to help them navigate their own stress curve let alone for their clients. Bringing a focus to the work IN instead of the work OUT is a good start. "
Ericka is a highly caffeinated coach, course creator and entrepreneur with a certification collection that includes a registered yoga teacher, trauma release exercise provider and health coach. She is the owner and founder of Elemental Kinetics online trauma release studio. As a refugee from the body brand nation and host of the podcast The Work IN, she offers mentorship and professional perspectives to help fitness professionals and wellness educators who want to set themselves apart using a creative, trauma-sensitive approach so that they can get lasting results for their clients and avoid burnout for themselves.
3 top tips for my audience:
1. Understand and embrace your influence for yourself and others. Your energy is so powerful and you deserve the grace to protect it.
2. Cultivate curiosity about what’s going on in your body and then practice letting go of the judgement you’ve attached to it.
3. Opposites create balance so let yourself rediscover the things that bring you joy!
