Thursday Oct 07, 2021
Thursday Oct 07, 2021
Cathy, a self-proclaimed “recovering depressive”, is working on creating a new blogging platform where she will discuss ideas, quotes and popular expressions that have resonated with her and that have helped her to keep a positive perspective on life despite depression. It’s all about her desire to keep a positive mindset to achieve her own form of happiness, which may help many depressives who struggle alone.
Cathy Jean-François is a high school and middle school English teacher in NYC, but her first love and passion is writing. From December 2014 to September 2019 she created and maintained a blog called "The True Confessions of a Reluctant Bachelorette" (www.thereluctantbachelorette.com) where she discussed the hilarity and sometimes heartbreak of being a single woman of a certain age. She then went on to launch her second blog in November 2019 after she married, calling it "Tighed the Knot: A Newlywed's Thoughts on Navigating the Married Life" (www.tighedtheknot.com). There, she shared some compelling stories of being a newlywed.

40 Thieves on Saipan is the thrilling, untold WWII story of an elite platoon of Marines: the Sixth Marine Regiment’s Scout-Snipers—nicknamed the “Forty Thieves” by their peers. The platoon’s unique skills in stealth, deadly hand-to-hand combat, and reconnaissance behind enemy lines helped gain a critical victory in the Pacific theatre. Written by the son of their leader, Lieutenant “Ski”, this inspiring narrative was composed from years of research and face-to-face interviews with the surviving Thieves.
Joseph Tachovsky is the author of 40 Thieves on Saipan and the son of the platoon’s leader. Graduating with degrees in English Literature, Theater and Art History made him perfectly qualified for a life in the hospitality trade. Based in Minneapolis, his restaurant creations have earned reviews and mentions in Food and Wine, Bon Appetit, Esquire, The Rolling Stone, The New York Times and Jim Harrison’s The Raw and The Cooked.

Ean Price Murphy, the founder of Moxie Bookkeeping, teaches successful entrepreneurs a dead-simple cash management system that works with their natural habits so they don't have to learn accounting to become permanently profitable.
After racking up tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt on living expenses, Ean Price Murphy chose bankruptcy in her mid-twenties. From that devastating experience, she began to relentlessly pursue financial literacy … and now she owns a successful bookkeeping business helping others break through the fear and frustration of small business finance.

Bobby Hedglin-Taylor “The multi Hyphenated artist”. Trapeze artist-actor-dancer-singer- acrobat - impressionist-author- officiant- aerial sequence choreographer- stand up comic - mixologist - teacher - coach.
In Bobby's words:
"It was very telling being called the “multi-hyphenated artist”. I’ve done so many different creative things with my life and I will always be an artist no matter what medium of art I use or canvas. If I am using a pen and paper, a stage, a microphone, a trapeze or a cocktail shaker I am an artist first and foremost. (See my full bio below) Not just dabbling in other art forms but successful both artistically and financially in all of those platforms. I’m comfortable wearing the title. It suits me. :)
2020 was a painful year for me.
The pandemic began with the governor shutting down visitation to nursing homes and I wasn’t able to visit my mother who had been a resident of a local nursing home here for 5 years. Two days later Broadway shut down and my boss called me and said we’re shutting down for 2 weeks. 11 days later, my mother died in the nursing home. There was no covid test to give the actual cause of death, but with her symptoms leading up to her death, I’m confident in saying that it was not a coincidence when she passed and what I believe she died from. Losing my mother was huge. She was my best friend and my hero. She died on March 21st. The morning of March 22nd I woke up with a fever of 104, body aches, headache like an anvil sitting on my temple and I couldn’t smell or taste anything. Yes, I had Covid19. Terrified and isolated, I retreated and took care of myself until I could figure out and navigate a way to get through it. Fighting for my own life now, in my waking hours that I could focus and function I began to write."
The end result: Bobby is the Author of 2 books-
#ShitMyMamaSays (available on Amazon) and
Escape to Ravioli Mountain-a memoir in food (coming this fall).
3 top tips for my audience:
1. Laugh every day no matter what
2. Save 10% or ⅓ of your income always!
3. Don’t be in show business for the money, because there isn’t any. Be in it because you LOVE IT.

Saturday Sep 18, 2021
Saturday Sep 18, 2021
Doree O’Neal is an author, an inspirational speaker, and a recovery coach, helping women that have recovered from addiction to find the lives they got sober for. She is a strong believer that we are on this earth to not just survive but thrive. Her first book, Seriously? How I Went from a Hot Mess to a Daring Bad Ass, was her way of sharing her personal experiences with alcoholism and recovery, surviving an abusive relationship, and how she let go of self-destructive behaviours. Through her own healing process, she was also able to discover her joy and happiness.
In Doree's words:
"Congratulations! You have given up drinking. You are feeling good physically and the fog has cleared. Then there comes an epiphany: I am sober, but the underlying problems are still there. Some may ask, “Why am I not happy? I got sober for this?”. My answer is “Yes!” But you do not have to figure this out alone! I am here to show you how to live and thrive in a life of recovery. Time to leave behind the hot mess, be daring and become the badass you were always meant to be!"
3 top tips for my audience:
1. Do not be afraid to give up things/ people that no longer suit you.
2. Try one thing that scares you.
