I couldn’t believe I was in prison. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I could survive and that my friends and family could still love me. I learned about myself with the help of other criminals.
When I was released, I wasn’t going to tell anyone. Why would I? When I finally got the courage to share my secret, I was surprised that people began sharing their secrets with me and beautiful connections were made. I started feeling empowered and shame fell away. Today I help others share their secrets.
I was a successful wardrobe stylist in Orange County, CA and living a sober life for almost a decade. I relapsed, stopped my business, sold drugs to a priest who was being followed and was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
For more than 1500 days I lived with serial killers, transgender bank robbers, mafia wives and the woman who kidnapped Elizabeth Smart. It was horrific and shocking. How did someone like me end up here?
I was released 3 years ago and have since graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Oregon University with a BS in Innovative and Leadership.
Kristy's top 3 tips:
1. Learn to love your perceived flaws.
2. Connecting to others through your pain.
3. Journaling every morning will help you be more authentic

Cheryln Gibbs is a heroic warrior, leader, and friend, who fought her way back from the devastating effects of betrayal trauma, PTSD, and suicidal thoughts. While sharing her painful story was never on her bucket list, doing so not only changed the way she sees her pain, but has helped others change the way they see their pain, too.
Cheryln loves telling stories through her video production and social media marketing business. She enjoys playing the bass guitar in her family band. She lives in Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband and adorable family, who love her even though she can't cook.
In Cheryln's words:
Are you stuck in a relationship with a destructive mindset? Does it feel one-sided? Like the spark has gone out? Like its no fun anymore.
Do you take the blame for things that are not your fault?
Is fear crippling your ability to move forward?
Do you feel unsafe, out of control, or powerless?
I encourage and inspire others to break up with destructive mindsets that are holding them back from living a life of peace, love, and human attachments. I comfort those who have known defeat, known to suffer, known struggle, known loss so that they can climb their way out of the depths and have an appreciation, a sensitivity, an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and deep loving concern for humanity.

Hi, I am Carla! I am a Mindset & Body Coach helping busy individuals lose weight and keep it off. My real mission and passion is to create practical steps for healthy living that allow you to still enjoy your life without feeling restrictive. Through workouts, nutrition plans, and intuitive eating training I support you in changing your behaviours to support a long term healthy lifestyle.
I am an alcohol-free, vegetarian living in the U.K but always looking for my next travel destination. After ending up in the emergency room due to poor lifestyle choices I knew that I needed to make a change...and fast! Giving up alcohol was one of the first choices I made, and it totally changed the trajectory of my life!
I have completely transformed my lifestyle since going alcohol-free. I look and feel better than I ever have in my life and it also gave me the incentive I needed to finally start my coaching business so that I can support others on this same journey. While there are difficulties along the way from unexpected places, I have never felt better and that is the only thing that matters.
Carla has a Facebook group for her clients - check her out!

Nick Bognar discusses the issues and mechanisms that drive men to addiction, the beliefs and social mores that keep them from getting help, and the obstacles that those around them face in caring for them.
Nick Bognar is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Pasadena, CA. Nick’s therapeutic work as a client led him to pursue a career in helping others shed the emotional shackles and burdens that keep them down, so that each may live their own happiest life and have the greatest impact on their community. Nick’s professional interests include building better men and helping people set boundaries with loved ones.
Nick's 3 top tips:
1. Many of men’s positive coping mechanisms are conditioned out of them in childhood and adolescence
2. People’s lives are enhanced by believing in them and holding them to high standards
3. When men understand how privilege works, they are better members of their community, but there’s a reason why it’s hard to teach men about privilege (and that reason is surmountable)
In Nick's words:
One of my passions is helping people connect to good therapists. Although I’m happy to take on clients when I have openings, I’m always available to speak to people to help them find someone to talk to (or sometimes, resources in their area). So if someone is contemplating getting help, they can call me and I’ll do my best to make sure they get pushed in a direction that will be helpful and nourishing for them. This is good because sometimes people have to make a dozen calls before they can even speak with someone, let alone find someone who has what they need. Whether or not I can treat someone, I’ll make time for them in order to help send them in the right direction.
